Record Breaking All Star Game

This past weekend kicked off the All-Star Weekend in the NBA. It started off with the celebrity game which actor, Michael Rappaport won MVP. The Rookies defeated the sophomores and Tyrek Evans won MVP that game. Then it jump started to the 3 point shootout which I predicted Chauncey Billups to win but Paul Pierce top all competitors becoming the first Celtic to win a 3 point shootout since Larry Bird. The slam dunk competition was not that impressive in my opinion I think it lacked creativity and energy, but Nate Robinson won his third title in a row. The event to watch was the East vs. West and it was a game indeed. Owner, Jerry Jones allowed the NBA to showcase their skills by allowing the game to be played in the Cowboys brand new dome. Out of all 59 All Star games this game was the highest in attendance 108,713 to be exact. It was a close game for the most part and the 4th quarter got real intense, but at the end the East defeated the West 141-139. It was a great turnout and for most players it was their first experience being selected as an All-Star such as Deron Williams (Utah), Derrick Rose (Chicago), Rajon Rondo (Boston), Gerald Wallace (Charlotte), Al Horford (Atlanta), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City) and Zach Randolph (Memphis) which was great for these group of guys who are playing at a high level during the regular season. It was also a disappointment to not see some stars not playing due to injuries such as Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, and Brandon Roy. Allen Iverson also did not play due to personal reasons. If you want to hear more on the game listen to me live this Saturday and I will give you the rundown on who won MVP.
