#2 Overall Pick Demoted To D-League

In most recent news. Hasheem Thabeet #2 overall pick is headed towards the D-League. Thabeet is the highest draft pick ever sent to the D-League. It seems like the 7'3 center is not what the Grizzlies had in mind and really expected more from the former Bulldog. Memphis knew it would be somewhat of a struggle with Thabeet, but they hope he could survive being a back-up in his first NBA season. Lionel Hollins (Memphis head coach) stated that his second year center Hamed Haddadi of Iran would receive Thabeet minutes being Marc Gasol. I believe Thabeet would recover and definitely impact the NBA after developing himself a little more. Thabeet is currently averaging 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 10.3 minutes. I hope the best for Hasheem and I will continue to follow his career.

LT Gets Cut From Chargers

It was reported Monday that the San Diego Chargers release All-Pro running back LaDainiam Tomlinson. It mostly had to do with his injuries and age, but LT says he is not done yet. LT has been with the Chargers for 9 years and became one of the best NFL running backs. The news came after he spoke with the Chargers president Dean Spanos who stated that Tomlinson took the news with a smile and was very respectful. LT states he is ready to move on to another team and his next goal is to win a championship with a top QB. LT made the Chargers the franchise they are now and when you think of the Chargers who have to think of LT. His agent, Tom Condon will spend time at the NFL scouting combine this week in Indianapolis to determine other organizations are interested in his client. LT is number 8 of the all-time rushers in NFL history with 12,490. He also has 138 career rushing touchdowns rank second, and 153 total touchdowns rank 3rd. Nevertheless, LT will definitely be picked up and whatever team he plays for will definitely be a plus because his resume is one that is going down in history.

Tiger Woods Is Set To Speak Out

After the long await and speculation and controversy surrounding Tiger Woods he is set to speak tomorrow 2/18/10 at 11:00am. Tiger Woods has not spoken out since he has been accuse of sexual relations with many women steming from waitresses to women who even claim to have unprotected sex with him. After a nearly 10 weeks from not speaking to the media and hiding out he is finally speaking in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl. Many believe he is speaking at the wrong time because of the tournament that is currently going on and they think all the light will go towards Tiger and not the tournament. The way Tiger set up his conference is to not have any questions ask and he will make it short and brief. Tiger has also lost endorsements and many believe he rush the conference so he will not lose any more endorsements. I wish Tiger the best and believe everybody deserves a second chance and this is a stepping stone to step back in the right direction. Even though Tiger actions were out of his character to many people we still forget that he is the number 1 golfer and broke records and without him in the sport it will lack a wider audience. I will definitely tune in tomorrow and speak about the outcome on my radio blog.

Record Breaking All Star Game

This past weekend kicked off the All-Star Weekend in the NBA. It started off with the celebrity game which actor, Michael Rappaport won MVP. The Rookies defeated the sophomores and Tyrek Evans won MVP that game. Then it jump started to the 3 point shootout which I predicted Chauncey Billups to win but Paul Pierce top all competitors becoming the first Celtic to win a 3 point shootout since Larry Bird. The slam dunk competition was not that impressive in my opinion I think it lacked creativity and energy, but Nate Robinson won his third title in a row. The event to watch was the East vs. West and it was a game indeed. Owner, Jerry Jones allowed the NBA to showcase their skills by allowing the game to be played in the Cowboys brand new dome. Out of all 59 All Star games this game was the highest in attendance 108,713 to be exact. It was a close game for the most part and the 4th quarter got real intense, but at the end the East defeated the West 141-139. It was a great turnout and for most players it was their first experience being selected as an All-Star such as Deron Williams (Utah), Derrick Rose (Chicago), Rajon Rondo (Boston), Gerald Wallace (Charlotte), Al Horford (Atlanta), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City) and Zach Randolph (Memphis) which was great for these group of guys who are playing at a high level during the regular season. It was also a disappointment to not see some stars not playing due to injuries such as Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, and Brandon Roy. Allen Iverson also did not play due to personal reasons. If you want to hear more on the game listen to me live this Saturday and I will give you the rundown on who won MVP.

All White Basketball League?????

I have an interesting topic I would like to discuss concerning recent report of starting an all white Basketball league launching in 12 cities. The league commissioner Don "Moose" Lewis states he is not a racist at all but feels like white players are minority and in his exact words "I want to emphasize fundamental basketball instead of street ball played by black people." Moose would like to jump start the season this June in Augusta, however have been receiving bad feedback already. Augusta Mayor, Deke Copenhavor has already stated he would not approve this type of entertainment in Augusta and states he is all for minor league teams but not in this fashion. Moose also states that the fans will enjoy it and you don't have to worry about going to a game and worrying about someone flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch. He also spoke about recent incidents in the NBA and the latest Gilbert Arenas situation. Hall Of Famer Charles Barkley definitely feels that this is racism and should not be tolerated. I think this is preposterous to start a league in this format. I think for Moose to state that white players are a minority is hilarious because you have great athletes such as Kirk Hinrich, Mike Miller, Brad Miller, Chris Kaman, and the list goes on and for him to state that in order to join the league both parents have to be Caucasian is a form of racism. I believe a blind person can see right through this. I don't think this league will go far and I think he is definitely going to get the attention he is looking for but in a bad way.

Who Dat Nation

After all the hard work during the off season and the trials and tribulations that the city and organization has gone through they finally bring home a championship. I will be quite frank and state that I did not believe they could defeat the Colts and I was worng. While analyzing the game I saw a leader that will be mention when spectators, broadcasters, bloggers and the whole world when mentioning the top elite Quarterbacks in this day and age and that is Drew Brees. I tend to speak about Peyton Manning a lot when it comes to the Colts and their offense, but this time around Drew Brees had a better performance than Manning. Brees completed 32 completions which was tied for the most in Super Bowl history with Tom Brady. This was a great game to watch but I think the turnover point for me was when head coach Payton decided to go for an on-side kick in the 3rd quarter which led to a touchdown and ultimately the game. I think with this win it was historic for the city itself after the tragedy of hurricane katrina and the devastion that the city has been through. I believe we will see the Colts next year, but the Saints prove that hard work pays off and they deserve to be mention when we talk about the top teams in the NFL. I will speak more on the Super Bowl and more this Saturday 2/13/10 on my radio show at 11am.

Miami Heat Continue To Struggle

Well it seems like the Miami Heat continues to struggle as we reach the midway point in the middle of the season. As I watch the Heat play it seems to me like we play very well against the top teams in the league, but we struggle against teams that is not even above .500. I am disappointed to see the Heat in the 8th seed in the league and we are trying to stay above water just to maintain a playoff spot. The Heat are now 24-25 after losing to the Celtics last night and I believe that if the Heat continue on this road they may not even make it to the playoffs and even worse we may lose our franchise player Dwayne Wade. I know people may not want to believe it but he does not look to happy on the court and it has been a lot of speculation that he may want to go back to his hometown and play for Chicago. I truly hope that does not happen and I would like to think that Pat Riley will do anything in his power to keep Wade here during the off-season. Well I will continue to keep my eye on my hometeam and hopefully they can make the necessary adjustments to end the rest of the season well.

It Appears That Mosley/Mayweather Fight Is Set In Stone

Well ladies and gentlemen after all the back and forth and all the speculation about who is better than who, Mayweather finally agree to fight Sugar Shane Mosley after a decade of not giving him the opportunity when he wanted it years ago. This welterweight fight happen when Pacquiao did not agree to undergo Olympic style drug testing that Mayweather and his camp wanted him to undergo. Weeks later Shane Mosley was schedule to fight Andre Berto, but due to the tragic earthquake that took place in Haiti he had to withdrawal from the fight because he had extended family that past away in Haiti. It seems like this fight was meant to me if you ask me and Sugar Shane is so excited and is willing to undergo any type of test that Mayweather and his camp is throwing his way. All we are waiting for is Mayweather's hancock to sign on the dotted line so we can see a spectacular fight. In recent interviews with Sugar Shane he is already stating that he will defeat Mayweather, but on the other hand I personally don't believe that this will be a walk in the park. I think that both opponents have something to prove. Mayweather is known for hand-picking his opponents and ducking and dodging the top contenders. Sugar Shane was known for using steroids as Mayweather always mention in interviews. This fight will be one for the century and I hope Mayweather hurry up and signs so the fight can be official "Sports King" "Failure is not an option, but a learned lesson so we won't make the same mistakes in the future" http://twitter.com/EASYSWORLD http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sports-king/2009/12/05/the-sports-analysis-show
