It's definitely a sad day in the sports world as we lose another icon. Steinbrenner had a heart attack, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Fla., and died at about 6:30 a.m. ET, according to multiple reports. George built the Yankees from ground up. In fact, in 37-plus seasons as owner, Steinbrenner led the Yankees to seven World Series championships, 11 American League pennants and 16 AL East titles. He changed the game of the franchise by starting his own television network and ballpark food company. Forbes now values the Yankees at $1.6 billion, trailing only Manchester United ($1.8 billion) and the Dallas Cowboys ($1.65 billion). The Steinbrenner family said that funeral arrangements will be private; however, details about an additional public service will be announced at a later date. He is gone but he will not be forgotten at all. R.I.P to a legend

Amare Reaches New Deal In A New Place
While all the speculation is involved in LeBron, Dwayne & Chris Bosh the show must go on and it has with New York reaching an agreement Monday with free agent Amare Stoudemire. The All-Star forward will receive a five-year, $99.7 million contract that will reunite him with coach Mike D'Antoni. Amare is excited about his new deal and already stated that he is going to attempt to recruit LeBron over to New York. The Knicks believe they are still in the hunt for James, but Sunday night's news that James planned to delay making a decision until Wednesday or Thursday helped force their hand in regards to Stoudemire. With this deal taking place it effectively removed the Knicks from the pursuit of Chris Bosh, and it significantly reduced the chances of David Lee returning to New York. However, the Knicks could still use Lee in a sign-and-trade deal if they miss out on James and Wade, but Lee could choose to take a five-year offer from another team between now and Thursday. Stoudemire had spent his entire career in Phoenix, where he played under D'Antoni before the coach came to New York in 2008. Stoudemire averaged more than 20 points in every season they were together and immediately becomes the best player D'Antoni has coached since leaving the Suns after the 2007-08 season. At this point they have their fingers crossed to see if they can also have LeBron join their organization.

Let The Talk Begin!!!!!!!
Ladies and gentlemen let the talk begin. Nets billionaire owner Mikhail Prokhorov, rap mogul Jay-Z, coach Avery Johnson and other team officials spent more than 90 minutes making a presentation on Thursday to James, the two-time MVP and budding global icon who became the most celebrated free agent in history at 12:01 a.m. The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers are expected to meet with James on Friday, with the Chicago Bulls and Cavaliers scheduled to visit with him Saturday. Cleveland's hoping that James' loyalty to home will keep him in Ohio. The team gave him something to consider as free agency opened by offering Byron Scott their coaching job. Scott's agent, Brian McInerney, told the AP that Scott has accepted the position. It's definitely exciting to see teams offer their presentations and history on free agents that they are trying to lure in. In one week history will be made and we shall see what happens
